“ Unsere Einkehr dauerte wegen Regen länger als geplant- zum Glück! In der Hütte erwartete uns eine heimelige und freundliche Atmosphäre, gutes Essen und Trinken. Gerne wieder. ”
“ Fantastic place! Delicious food and very fast service - steaming hot soup, a cheese platter and a beautifully arranged stew in a “Weck Glas” arrived 5 -10 minutes after ordering! (Very different from our experience 2 years ago when we had to wait 90 minutes for our food and our hungry children said they never want to go back. We heard it’s now under new ownership so it’s totally different: quicker service now with a simple menu and good regional food). I can recommend taking the tram and bus from Freiburg centre to Schauinsland Bahn, walking up the mountain (if you are fit) or taking the cable car to the top. Then walking down to Rappenecker Hütte (it’s quite well signposted and takes about an hour downhill). Check before you go that it is open, as it shuts in winter and during summer is usually open from Friday to Sunday ; subject to change. Then walking down to Kirchzarten and catching the train back to Freiburg (there’s one every half an hour). We had a great day out! Enjoy! ”

“ Wir sind zur Hütte gewandert, waren hungrig und durstig :) Bestellt haben wir den Hüttensalat und die Käsespätzle. Der Melder bimmelte und wir konnten das Essen abholen. Das Essen sah sehr appetitlich aus, mit Liebe zum Detail. Auch geschmeckt hat es sehr gut. Und die Portionen Pantoffeln. Wir können die Hütte wärmstens empfehlen. Zum Nachtisch gab es einen Apfelkuchen und auch dieser war so gut :) Also: Service gut, Essen gut. Wir glücklich und zufrieden! ”
